What are the key ethical responsibilities borne by members of this United States in the present political moment?

The 2018 Baum Symposium will conduct a rigorous exploration of ethics and politics. Three areas of moral concern will be the focus:

  • Our collective commitment to truth and facts in public life;
  • The role of ethics and ethical standards among elected officials;
  • A climate of increasing hostility against communities of color, immigrant groups and religious minorities being nurtured in the political landscape.

Attendees of the 2018 Baum Symposium will constructively engage questions of moral and civic responsibility in light of these issues. A diverse program of  speakers and leaders from a variety professions and fields will facilitate this important and timely exploration. The worlds of business, media, politics, education and activism will be given particular focus.
